Cone |
|||||
The cone is a simple 3D graphic primitive with three changeable dimensions: height, lower radius, and upper radius. If either radius has a value of 0 then the result will be a cone with a point. If the lower radius and upper radius are both greater than zero then the result will be a cone with a cut off end. If the upper radius is equal to the lower radius then the result will be a cylinder. You can change the size of the cone by directly setting its properties in the property toolbar, or you can do it using the mouse. If you right click and drag the mouse on the top or bottom of the side of the cone you can increase or decrease the upper and lower radius. You can do the same by clicking on the top of the cone to resize its height using the mouse. You can also move the part using the mouse. If you right click on the center selection box you can move the part in the XY plane. To switch to moving it in the XZ plane hold down the "s" key while moving the box. You can also move it in just one dimension by holding down the "x", "y", or "z" key while moving the part. Rotation can be performed using the mouse by left clicking on the center selection box and moving the mouse to rotate the object. Again, you can hold down the "x", "y", or "z" key while moving the mouse to rotate the part on just that axis.
General PropertiesTo see a description of the properties common to all bodies follow this link Cone PropertiesThese properties are specific to cone only. HeightThe height of the cone. This value can be directly entered by the user or they can use the mouse by clicking on the either flat end of the cone and dragging the mouse to the desired height Default value: 10 cm Acceptable range: any number greater than zero Lower Radius The lower radius of the cone. This value can only be entered by the user. If a value of 0 is entered then the cone will have a point at the lower end. Any value greater than zero will result in a cut off cone. If the value of the lower radius is equal to the value of the upper radius then the cone will be a cylinder. Default value: 5 cm Acceptable range: 0 - infinity Upper Radius The upper radius of the cone. This value can only be entered by the user. If a value of 0 is entered then the cone will have a point at the upper end. Any value greater than zero will result in a cut off cone. If the value of the upper radius is equal to the value of the lower radius then the cone will be a cylinder. Default value: 0 cm Acceptable range: 0 - infinity |
